Its been a year. Time for some fish updates.
I'm not sure if anyone here still reads after all its been a year since I've last posted. I would say I've been busy which is slightly true but not busy enough to not write anything. So todays going to be a huge update about Fishy life and thoughts and concerns. You're welcome to stay or leave.

Its been a long year. I feel like I've aged 5 years. I don't really know where to begin so this whole post will probably be a ramble and poorly written and spaced but I'm going to try to at least put topics together.
<><
To start of with more light hearted and happy topics, I went to my first renaissance faire this past summer. I had a group of people that went with me and it was a lot of fun. I went as a rogue, we had a ranger, a town guard, and a barbarian. Turns out I LOVE MEAD, I might honestly prefer it more than soju. So that has been a really fun experience.
FFXIV
I'm playing more FFXIV and its really fun dipping my toes into raiding. I'm being dragged through Shadowbringers by 2 of my close friends and its really enjoyable. I love spending time with people I just don't know how to do that most of the time, and this is a way for me to do that and play a game with them we all enjoy. I want to get more into raiding but the baby static my friend made for all of us new baby players is going a little too slow for my liking, personally I want to do more but I can't make other people do things they don't want in a group thats for fun. On another FFXIV note, im griding for my Dawntrail relic weapon and its slowly driving me insane. The demiatmas were a full time job, the Aetherwell Array wasn't bad, BUT THE CRYSTAL PASTE MAKES ME WANT TO SLAM MY FOREHEAD INTO MY DESK. I can not wait to get past the crystal paste step. I want to do the Dawntrail world tour. At least I never have to do the steps again after this, thats the biggest upside that has been keeping me going.

On to more serious life topics. I have 1 more year left in my military contract. I not reenlisting after my time is up im going to leave. Ive done my time and ive gotten the experiences I wanted out of it. Also turns out most of asia fucking hates me because my family is chinese, this is the second foreign training exercise ive been in where ive had personal security because there was a chance I could get jumped, ive only been in 2 foreign training exercises. It didn't really make me scared it just made me mad. I don't know what I want to do with my life after I leave, im worried about my future. I dont know if I can adapt back to normal civilian life. The army has changed me a lot, and a lot of the time I cant tell if it was for better or for worse. My values and thoughts no longer align with people close to me in my life and its very jarring. Ive caused problems without meaning to due to these differences. I need to go back and finish my degree which at least gives me some time to think about my life path. Also I almost died this past week but im fine. I want to talk about more personal views but that is unwise with my current employment so that will have to wait till im out.

I want to thank all my friends for sticking with me for so long. I've changed a lot over the past 3 years in the military. I don't know if its for better or for worse. I think it turned me into a more capable person. I also think it turned me into a more prejudice person. So I'm trying to come to terms with who I've become for better or for worse. All im sure about for my future is I want to become a person my friends can depend on in a crisis. They dont have to agree with my views, they can think im problematic or racist or whatever. As long as I can keep people safe or get them out of danger thats all that matters to me at the end of the day. Personal gear is expensive, plate carrier, mags, ammo, guns, plates, optics, night vision, all is extremely expensive so this will endeavor will continue into the future.

Thats all for now folks. Hopefully it wont take another year to make a post. But hopefully when I do post again you have time to stop and look at the fishies.
